I requested a few samples recently, one of which being the "Mountain Cedar". I received the samples and the Mountain Cedar is a very "orangish" color resembling the Cedar or Redwood? The picture of the sample on the website shows a much darker...greenish tone which is what I was after. I realize that the pictures may be somewhat different than the actual, but this is an extreme difference.

I like the Woodland Brown shade, but would like only 40% of that shade. Would it be possible to do that. If so, could I get it as a sample? What I would like to do is use Amber on the floor and the 40% Woodland Brown on the sides of the deck to create a 2-tone effect. I do want some samples but would like to know if what I asked is possible. Thanks. ;-)

How fast do samples usually arrive? Want to check the color but need to have my 5 gallons by Labor Day weekend.

Depends on where you live. What state?

    John Reifschneider:
Do the natural and cedar tones block UV light?

Yes, but they offer the lowest amount of UV protection. Pigment and color is directly related to the UV protection. The darker colors or stains with more pigment will always last longer from sun fading.

    Carmen:
I live in Canada and I just had a fence built in sienna brown in the sun it looks like a cedar with brown tones. We built one side on to an existing fence and I need to try and match that color, would you know of a semi transparent that would match up or close to a micro sienna brown wood. I am desperate.

Sorry but not sure so it would be best to get a few samples form this page to test first.

For the semi-transparent rustic brown, what tint is there in the brown - pink, red, orange, true brown? I will be ordering a few samples, but want to have more info on this color before ordering. Thank you.

It is a true brown for the Rustic.

    Erico:
I have read that the semi transparent stain lasts longer than transparent stain? Is it the same with AC Stains?

    eric

Yes, the more pigment you have, the longer the UV protection.

    Donald shenberger:
How long can you store deck stain I will have some left and would like to keep it.

Less than a year if opened. Sometimes longer if you close the lid so there is not any evaporation. Has to be temperature controlled storage as well.

    peggy gusler:
because of the poor condition of the logs on all but the north side of my cabin I probably need a penetrating stain for conditioning. is your semi-solid stain penetrating or does it basically coat the log?

The semi-solid is a penetrating stain as long as you prep the wood properly and remove all previous coatings, if any.

    Duncan Boan:
I'm trying to match the pigmentation of a nail-hole-filling saw flour paste with the colour of an original application of your stain. The 'filler' likely won't take stain, and I'm wondering whether the color of your stain will darken with each subsequent application. (if so, my 'patches' would become progressively more apparent with each application).I'm thinking in particular of semi transparent or semi solid cedar.

    Thanks in advance

Depends on how you prep. If you clean and brighten correctly, then it will not darken much through the years.
