    peggy gusler:
I moved into a cedar lob cabin (28x18 story and half) which has not been refinished in 7-8 yrs. Each side is in a different degree of condition. Can I send pictures of the log condition to get better help in deciding what prep and stain should be used? I am on my own in refinishing this and need to keep it as cost effective as possible. I love the sound of your product and am anxious to try it. Also, I have been battling carpenter bees and the after effects of woodpeckers so I need to use filler on major size holes. do you recommend a particular product that will work with your stains?
    Love your interactive web site.
    Sincerely Pegg Gusler, Allegan, MI

Wood filler will not blend when stained. Best to leave alone or try a caulk that is close in color to the stain that you choose. You can reply to your email with pictures.

I ma looking for a good stain for my deck. I am wondering if Armstrong Clark stain is good for larch and if I should use the stain for hard wood since larch is pretty dense? Also I am from Canada (close to Montréal) is there any place where I can buy and test this product close from my home?

You can use it on larch. Just one coat, any color will do. No dealers in Canada, but we can ship to you.

    Don Shenberger:
    Hello,
Will this work for a previously stained deck that has been sanded. I removed about 90% of old stain but some is still deep into wood. Also can you polyurethane after staining to keep it from wearing as quick
    Thank you
    Don

It really depends on what type of stain the old coating was. Meaning it will not cover or blend if the old stain was a solid stain. You cannot add poly over this nor should you ever use a poly on exterior wood. It does not work.

    mike rogers:
I have a Brazilian Tiger Wood deck. Never been sanded, has been power washed along with a cleaner, a brightener then a clear stain. The finish is great but doesn't last long. Its been 3 years since I have done anything to it It is now gray. I would like to refinish it, thinking the steps are to use a cleaner, then a brightener then power wash it off. Sand it with 60 grit then 80 grit. Then apply a good deep penetration stain that is oil based
Am I on the right track? Do you have the products I need. The deck is about 350 feet.

Yes we have the products for your wood type. Look at the Armstrong Clark in Mahogany or Amber colors. Prep with our Restore A Deck Kit. Just one of the kits is enough. 2 gallons should cover for your sq. footage.
